Herbie Wiles Insurance is reaching out to the community to help raise money for The Arc of the St. Johns. Beginning Friday November 8th through the end of the year, Herbie Wiles Insurance will donate $1 to The Arc for every “LIKE” on Facebook.
The Arc provides services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The mission of The Arc is to provide the opportunity for hope, growth and change; the opportunity for everyone to become a valued, contributing member of our community.
“ARC is a remarkable organization that improves the quality of life for so many by providing life skills training, employment assistance and group housing throughout St. Johns County. We are so fortunate to have such a caring group of professionals who are passionate about those they serve,” said Doug Wiles, president of Herbie Wiles Insurance.
For more than 60 years, The Arc has been creating opportunities for people with I/DD. The Arc continues to be a grassroots organization, with more than 730 chapters across the U.S. The Arc of the St. Johns chapter was founded in 1972 and is committed to working hard to promote and protect human rights and to help people with I/DD achieve full and satisfying lives in their own community. The Arc of the St Johns currently operates 2 charter schools, multiple adult day programs, continuing adult education classes, residential programs and employment programs.
“In all that we do, in life and business and service to others, success is best measured by the lasting strength of the relationships we discover. The Arc of the St. Johns has been blessed with a long and nurturing relationship with Herbie Wiles Insurance, the Wiles families, and their extended families in business and the community. Doug Wiles and his team are our go-to friends, for our agency, and for the men, women and children for whom we work,” said Neal Benson, Director of Marketing & Development for The Arc of the St. Johns.
The funds raised through this campaign effort will go specifically to the Arc’s Therapeutic Learning Center for Children (TLC). Watch this video about TLC kids to learn more.
“The award winning TLC program focuses on the very young, preparing them for elementary school and a chance at a normal, productive life,” said Wiles.
The TLC provides pre-k education and therapy to children ages birth to 5 with special needs. They maintain a 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio to maximize every learning opportunity and provide physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, utilizing therapists specific to pediatrics. The Arc seeks to help children with special needs achieve their full potential, so that one day they can become fully participating members of their communities.
